Angi Gatica
Plantation, Florida
As the proud owner and artist at the Art Paper Scissors Plantation studio, Angi has loved all kinds of art and music as far back as she can remember, so naturally, she's thrilled to get to share her passion with others. She especially hopes to inspire kids with endless creative possibilities and to help them unlock their own self-expression and find their joy in making art. She is excited to be able to build a fun, inclusive, and encouraging community space!
Originally from New England, Angi visited South Florida in the late 90’s and fell in love with the vibrance and natural beauty. She's called it home ever since. She's a proud mom to (almost) 11-year-old twins - a dynamic duo who share her love for art, nature, and all forms of creativity. She is a former president of South Florida Mothers of Multiples, and an active member of the community. Aside from creating art, Angi loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling both near and far, exploring nature, taking way too many pictures, listening to music, and thrift shopping. With her background woven through art, business, and marketing, Angi especially enjoys planning special events for our Plantation-area families, and truly getting to know her artists, helping them to discover and express their own individual talents and encouraging a life-long love of art. She can't wait to welcome your family to her studio for clubs and special events! |
Maria Reed
Land O' Lakes, Florida
As a native of the Dominican Republic she moved to the Sunshine State at the age of ten, which she thanks her mother so much for, because it allowed her to grow up in a wonderfully diverse culture that molded her into the person she is today. It wasn’t until she had kids that she realized that teaching was one of her passions. She homeschooled her children for a few years and enjoyed the educational atmosphere that allowed them to fill their potential for intellectual, emotional, and physical growth.
She supports her children’s elementary school by being part of the Parent Teacher Organization and assisting as a volunteer whenever possible. She is also the administrator of the 2nd graders group for networking. Prior to her move, she volunteered with Mothers of Multiples, a national non-profit organization with local chapters and served on the executive board. Maria is proud to be living in Land O’ Lakes with her husband John and their three children. In her free time, she enjoys hitting the beach, amusement parks and savoring the variety of delightful cuisines that Florida’s restaurants have to offer. She especially loves spending time with family and friends. “I’m beyond happy to be a part of the Art Paper Scissors family, helping to create an exciting learning experience for all.” |
